Hi Everyone,
Just two weeks ago, I shared the urgent need for mats to go to Jamaica. Since then, so much has unfolded – and all of it has been a testament to generosity, timing and answered prayers.
It began when the woman who helps my neighbour’s daughter took 39 mats and put them on a container headed for Jamaica. She told me, they could take more mats, if I could get them. I reached out to all of you, and the response was incredible. Many of you gathered mats from your homes, churches, and volunteer groups and before long my garage was completely full. Then came the unexpected news: the container to Jamaica was now full!!!! What now?? I prayed for guidance.
AND then, last Wednesday evening, the phone rang. A woman, who I have never met, told me she knew the Consul General of Jamaica and asked if I still had mats available. She said she would call the Consul and get back to me. The next day, I was at work, and the call came.. -YES- they wanted everything I had, the mats, the pillows, the boxes of candles and the shoes. I was told that many people are sleeping in tents and the mats will be used on the tent floors for comfort them from the hard ground.

Saturday afternoon, a massive 5 ton truck backed into my driveway and together with my son and daughter-in-law, we loaded 229 mats and every last item from the garage into the truck. Because of your kindness, the people of Jamaica will soon receive these blessings of your hard work, and your compassion to help people in need.

After Christmas, I will send another update with our year-end statistics and totals from previous years.
Bettina (my webmaster and friend), and I wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Kwanza.
With gratitude, Angela
