What a week at camp

Hello this is Angela…

What a week at camp, good but exhausting. I have to tell you about the kids. On Monday I had the kids weave mats… I had tons of bags and 3 frames, and they made 7 adult sized mats. From Tuesday to Friday they had other crafts, but I told them the weaving could go on anytime they had free time, or when they were waiting for their parents to pick them up. By Friday those little monkey’s had made 18 mats… can you believe it, amazing. Another thing that was funny was they would come to me before leaving camp at the end of the day and ask me for a bundle of loops so they could tie them at home and return them in the morning. It was amazing. They were so proud of their work. The pastor at church this morning said that the kids were wonderful mat makers and the weaving seemed to be therapeutic for them. It was definitely a good social thing and I was thrilled to see them grab onto the concept and go for it. The kids ages were 6 to 11… they all loved weaving.
