Hope you are well. Summer still lingers, but maybe it’s time to start thinking about your fall and winter activities. Milk bag weaving is a great activity and so wonderful for the people who receive your mats.
So far this year we have delivered 4262 mats to people in need. Thank you for all your work!
Our next pick up your bags day will be on Wednesday, September 22. Please let me know you are coming so I have enough boxes of bags for everyone.
Housekeeping news: We have a few people who want to donate their frames to anyone who would like to start the project. I will tell you where they are and you can decide if they are close to you so you can pick them up.
- Two 6 loop frames at a school in the Unionville area
- A 7 loop frame in the Caledon East area. The lady has one box of new bags to go with this frame.
- I have a 5 loop frame here at my home.
For the new people, these frames are free, all you need to do is pick them up. Most frames fit in a van, however the large 7 loop frame would likely need a pick up truck, unless you have a van where the seats fold down into the floor.
If you are interested in these frames, let me know and I will put you in contact with the donor(s).
If anyone is travelling to Ottawa and can transport some boxes of bags, please let me know and I will put you in contact with people who would happily receive them. Our schools and churches have been closed and bag collection has been limited. Weavers there need bags.
Stay well, and enjoy September.. it’s my favourite time of the year,
