I hope you are all well and have had a good spring. Things are going well with the milk bag project, but I haven’t written due to not having bags to give you for your future mat weaving. I am receiving a few boxes of bags next week and will share if you need some, please just contact me and I will try to have enough for you. The teachers are cleaning up their classrooms and along with their mats they are bringing me their extra bags. I am hoping a shipment of bags comes soon from Hood Packaging and then I will have lots of bags to share with everyone.
So far this year we have sent over 3000 mats to Canadian Food for Children. I’m always happy if we deliver about 500 mats a month, so we are right on track. It is nice though when more than 500 come in, but I am grateful for all the work you do and for supporting this cause.
Nicaragua is still in turmoil. (She went there once to show some women how to crochet purses out of plastic bags) More than 200 people have been killed and over 2000 have either been injured or are missing. Right now there is no relief in sight, but the Canadian Government as of today, has finally released a statement that they are watching the violence and want it to stop. I like to watch the news and have been very disappointed that there is never a report on what is going on in Nicaragua. It makes me wonder what else is going on in the world that I (we) don’t know about.
Anyway, this is just a quick email to let you know I have not forgotten you and I’m hoping that in a few weeks the shipment from Hood comes in and I’ll have lots of bags to share with you.
Bless you all,
